TCI Transportation Acquires Success NationaLease, Expanding Fleet and Carrying Forward a Shared Legacy of Values

Kansas City, KS / Los Angeles, CA — TCI Transportation, a family-owned provider of dedicated logistics, leasing, and rentals, announced today the acquisition of Success NationaLease, a Kansas-based leasing company founded in 1960 by Hanan Wedlan. This acquisition adds more than 450 trucks and three facilities to TCI’s nationwide network, strengthening its presence in Kansas and Texas while preserving the legacy of another family-owned business.

Success NationaLease began as a small Kansas City operation before expanding to Wichita and Arlington, Texas. For over six decades, the company has been guided by the Cowboy Code of the West — principles such as taking pride in your work, keeping promises, and putting people first.

Under ownership of the Wedlan family, Success built a reputation for reliability, service, and customer-first solutions.

“For over 65 years, the dedicated employees of Success NationaLease have been proud to serve our customers with integrity, reliability, and a strong sense of family,” said John Malinee, who has served as President of Success NationaLease since 1993. “Joining TCI ensures that this legacy will continue to thrive under leadership that shares our same values. The Cowboy Code has guided us for decades, and those principles align closely with TCI’s core values. This transition is about ensuring Success’s legacy lives on and that our people and customers are supported for decades to come.”

The connection between the two companies was forged through their membership in NationaLease, where Malinee and Andrew Flynn first met more than 20 years ago. Their relationship grew from collaboration and mutual respect, creating a foundation of trust that set the stage for today’s milestone.

“Success NationaLease shares many of our core values and approaches to customer service,” said Andrew Flynn, Co-President of TCI Transportation. “When two family-owned companies with similar values come together, it creates stability, strengthens employee loyalty, and ensures we continue to deliver exceptional service. What excites me most is the opportunity for shared growth. We’ll adopt some of Success’s best practices while bringing in our own strengths, and customers can expect the same outstanding service with expanded resources.”

Ryan Flynn, Co-President of TCI Transportation, added:

“Success NationaLease has a rich history, a strong culture, and outstanding people. This acquisition allows us to combine the best practices from both organizations and strengthen our team for the future. It’s an incredible feeling — both an honor and a privilege — to lead TCI into this next chapter of growth. This acquisition is not just a business milestone — it’s a continuation of our father’s vision and a reflection of the values he instilled in us.”

Both organizations credit their success to shared values. TCI’s five core values — Dedicated, Positive, Innovative, Ethical, and Accountable — mirror Success’s Cowboy Code of the West, creating a natural alignment that will ensure a smooth cultural integration.

With the acquisition of Success NationaLease, TCI grows to more than 4,000 pieces of equipment, 1,900 employees, and 25 facilities nationwide. This step represents not just an expansion of TCI’s footprint, but a continuation of two family-owned legacies built on trust, service, and values.
